Morning folks. Where has summer gone? Grey, damp and miserable here again today.

I am not too bad thanks PM. Not looking forward to this weekend as it will be a year since dad died, so with that on Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday, not the best of weekends for us. Only positive thing is that we will then have all the 1st of everything done, birthday, Christmas etc.

Still not sure that that will make these days any easier though. Miss my dad so much as we were so close. I am close to mum, but was always "daddy's girl". As I said to hubby the other day, dad was my best friend in life until hubby came along, then dad became my second best friend. He was always someone I could turn to no matter what and he would give advice without judgement. Always admired him for that, plus the fact that he was one of life's real gentlemen.

Have a good day all. I am off to the hairdresser this morning for some highlights and a cut, not my ideal way to spend a morning, but it needs doing.

It's going to be a tough and very sad weekend for you all. Just remember how blessed you were to have such a wonderful dad and all thou that will make everything harder atm with his loss in time this is what wil give you the most comfort. His love lives on in you and how you are with your DS and will be with your grandchildren he taught and gave you some powerful tools that didn't stop with his passing.

We were talking at the weekend to DS3 about DFIL who passed away when he was a baby, mainly about it was such a shame he didn't get to know him like his brothers as he trully was a special man who loved all his children and grandchildren dearly and how for them times was very unusuall as men tended not to have much to do with the bringing up of children. We were lucky as due to health problems was unable to work but meant he got to spend a lot of time with his grandchildren bonus for them and us. But even after that time it was still with saddness we talk of him not being around but it was because he was so special so am so grateful for that.

Well our forecast was rubbish, supposed to be sunny and we didn't get any until 2 o'clock but then it was lovely.. Went to in-laws for lunch as one of poorly auntie-in-laws was visiting. It was lovely to see her mobile after a year in various hospitals. She's lost over 2 inches in height but that doesn't matter, she's still with us! We visited her in hospital in Birmingham last August bank holiday and she was so frail then, we weren't sure she would ever get ot....
    Sometimes it works out ok.

Then we went for BBQ at my parent's - marvellous!

Back to work tomorrow after 17 days off.o

So pleased DAIL'S health has improved from last year:j:A

    Good Morning everyone:)

Same here SND grey raining (only lightly thou) and cold. It was similar in morning yesterday then turned out ok so fingers crossed all thou certainly doesn't look like it atm. Hard to believe we already in middle of June:eek:

PM really sorry to hear the treatment hasn't worked and know you must be feelin pretty low atm :( but you have to keep some hope that it will happen for you in the future. You always here of these wonderful stories maybe one day you will be back here posting yours and am sure everyone here will be wishing this for you.

I think it is one of the frustrating things in life that some people can go on giving life to children that are neglected abused and just a meal ticket, when so many others who can give a loving home where they will be cherished and cared for are unable or have great difficulties to achieve this. Can't get the image of that vile man who set fire and killed his 6 children for what! revenge it is heartbreaking. Sorry will get of my soap box now:o

You are so right. I just read about a man who killed a little 4 year old boy. He beat this little lad up and then threw his body out onto the pavement.. Its times like this when I really wish we still had hanging. How could he hurt this poor little boy:mad:
