No, of course I didn't know, I just read the announcement that I discretely cut and pasted for the benefit of all you MSErs
If you didn't know what was going on yourself and are just blindly copying and pasting advertising copy without comprehending it, it seems a bit of a dickmove on your part to be saying to other people "when on earth did you last login" as if you're shocked by them being behind the times and unaware of recent developments.

Nice touch with the inappropriate use of 'discretely' though :D

Thanks bowlie for those kind comments, when on earth did you you last get shocked by things, never I guess, but I always thought the MSErs would have known there had been no change to the platform, seeing as you all seem to be regular traders, and why anyone would use II or III even for regular trading is odd, iWeb is cheaper as is X-O, not too mention Degiro.

Nowt as strange as folk, have nice weekend, and once agin very many thanks for reading my posts, you do realise they're meant to be amusing don't you, investing is fun, so everyone needs to lighten up a bit. Some people get riled up so easily.

I don't think there are many regular traders here. That would go against the ethos of this forum to keep costs down.

II works for people who switch investments very infrequently. They can buy for £1 per trade and sell for £10. So if most of the activity in your portfolio is topping up existing funds, that £1 is cheaper than iWeb, X-O and Degiro.

Of course there is the £22.50 per quarter platform charge, which gives you £22.50 per quarter in trading credits. If you make fewer than 5 trades per quarter, iWeb can ultimately end up cheaper after you make back the £25 account opening fee. X-O and Degiro don't offer OEICs or UTs, so tend not to be very useful to those who cannot build a complete portfolio from shares/ITs/ETFs, but again, are cheaper at either extreme.

Coming back to your point that people should know that nothing has changed on the platform, all customers holding securities with II will know this as we were forced to log in and set up new security details as part of the migration at the end of last year. The people who are responding to this change are no doubt those with research accounts, which were not subject to the previous migration.

    Just logged on
urrrrg what have they done to the Porfolio tool
Some of my pension funds no longer showing prices
But more importantly prices quoted are bid which is completely useless when there is a big closing spread which their data feed seems to have
And the general look and feel is very poor
    What a step backwards

+1 My Virtual Portfolio is a complete dog's breakfast - funds showing as zeroes, or -100% loss, etc., and at an initial glance, many of the funds are completely missing.

I should have done a screen-grab so I could re-enter all the purchase information.

I have been using the at-a-glance portfolio thingy for a quick regular check of how things were going and now I don't know what the heck to make of it.

OK, I have had about 15 years of free stock and fund tracking, so I suppose I shouldn't complain, but I hope I can figure out how to "reset" it.
