Starling Card &/or Danish Kroner

Morning!
We are off for a city break in Copenhagen in July and I've been looking at getting some currency, but not sure wether to take enough for the time we are there (and maybe have to exchange it back to GBP when we get back) or take a little bit and use my Starling Bank card?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Using your Starling Bank card will give your the ideal MasterCard exchange rate, whereas the rate for buying Danish krone cash will be 2-3% worse {on the same day} and worse again to exchange any back to pounds. What little cash might be needed can be taken from an ATM. Have a backup card.Evolution, not revolution0

Having been to Copenhagen earlier this year for the first time since 1996 I found that it's a waste of time taking cash at all, everywhere takes cards and some places expect you to pay with a card.0

I agree with agrinnall. I find that taking cash to Scandinavia (and much of Europe) is a waste. In Scandinavia especially, you can use credit card virtually everywhere, and it's not uncommon for locals to not use cash at all (I lived in Norway for 5 years, and would often go weeks, or months, without using cash). Taking cash, then having to exchange the leftover back to GBP on return, can be very wasteful.
On my last few trips to Scandinavia, I think I managed without using cash once. I'd suggest taking a look at the MSE travel credit card info, to see if you have a card that charges 0% foreign transaction fees, and / or 0% foreign currency ATM fees. Personally, I have a Barclaycard Platinum Travel credit card which I use for all my overseas spend, and it's saved me hundreds of £££ since I got it.0
