Thanks everyone.......i think that i will probably get a man in to bond and screw the gate shut.....(i know that its a `shared` gate but i pay a mortgage and she pays nothing..the tax payer pays for her to live there. She has been intimidating and abusive and nasty and I have no doubt that her housing association have spoken to her.....if its welded shut tight and unopenable what can she do about it? She will have to use her front door like every other `normal` person....

I know Dave that i should get this sorted properly but it will be stressful and time consuming to go through environmental health and i know the authorities `tip toe` around people with issues and mental health problems and it will be a fight...i just want that gate silenced.....the more she is told about the banging the more she does it....if she didnt have dogs i would just get somebody in to remove it (i am female and just wouldnt know how to do these things)....i did go through that gate at the weekend to cut down one side of a bush and her dogs ran out down the road and i had to chase after them and bring them back.....nightmare......i think strong bonding material plus screws...she might even think her housing association themselves have done it..
As you say, the situation is already out of hand.

Ah well, the ideal excuse if you need it: "For the dogs' safety after their recent escape. Can't have that happening again!"

Does that mean the dogs that are in her back garden get into your back garden?
Why not just remove the shared gate and get smaller gates put up directly into each back garden, even if you have to pay to get hers installed it shouldn't cost too much and will separate the gardens and stop the one banging near your bedroom.

When you cook a good english breakfast keep the left over fat, when you see dogs crapping, take said left over fat & pour small amount over dog crap when dog eats said fat owner will soon make sure she picks dog crap up. :D

PS: wont stop the gate banging

Araldite is great stuff, but even the rapid version will take 15 to 30 minutes to stick properly, and several more hours to set completely.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

All glues, even the instant bond ones, take time to reach full strength. It might be a matter of hours, or even a day or two.

without seeing the actual structure I can't say exactly how I would do it.

First option would be screws through the gate into the uprights both sides hinge and latch.

Alternative I would consider converting the gate into a panel.

Take it off then remove all the iron work(hinges latch etc).
(give it another spruce up while off)

Then it would be fixed back into the gap very securely.
