Fit tariff & changing supplier

Please can anyone advise?
I have solar panels and I currently pay British Gas for my electricity supply and they pay me my fit tariff in return. I am on their very expensive standard tariff. Can I change energy suppliers and if so, what happens to my solar panel fit tariff, will they still pay it if I no longer use them for my electricity supply?
Hoping someone can advise. Many thanks

Yes, they will. I have change electricity supplier many times (usually annually).
What you can't do is change FIT supplier.0 -

Oh yes you can but there is no financial benefit if you do.

I stand corrected!
I must admit mines been with NPower since I had the installation in 2010 and they have paid promptly on submission of the quarterly meter reading, so no real need to change.0 -

I have had my FITs paid by EDF for the past 7 years. Claim submitted 1 June, paid by BACs today. I gather some of the smaller companies wait until they have received the money from Ofgem before paying out. Probably, a good reason to switch. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
