minor surgery /mole or sebaceous cyst removal

I had one removed years ago on NHS - no problems, popped into the clinic, procedure over in ten minutes. It's never given me any trouble since.
If it is on your head then it will obviously cause problems when you are brushing and combing your hair - that is why I went to my GP who didn't have any hesitation in referring me to the clinic.Gloomendoom wrote: »My dad had one on his neck. His GP removed it.
Things like wart and benign mole removals that used to be done on the NHS are no longer offered as routine treatments. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I had one removed last October, NHS Scotland.0

I had a large one on my scalp.
My GP does minor surgery and he drained it but it filled up again so he referred me to the hospital.
It was removed by NHS hospital and has not recurred. I was warned it might but told it could be removed again if it did.0 -

No idea. Some GPs are obviously a lot more willing to get stuck in.
You could always give it a go yourself if you want to take the cheapest route. Plenty of videos on Youtube.
I was going to post one but it's getting close to evening meal time.0 -
I don't think you will get it removed for £100.
Here is one example https://minorsurgery.co.uk/price-guide-2017-18/
You can normally phone a private hospital for an estimate of the cost.0 -
They removed a huge one from a guys head on "GPs: behind closed doors" the other week. AFAIK it was NHS.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0

Most doctors will only see you for 10 minutes and then it is about just one potential illness instead of numerous ones.
"GPs: behind closed doors" seems to give patients as much time as they wish including minor operations most doctors would not do.0 -
OH had one on his shoulder that was dealt with by the NHS (minor op at GP surgery, not a standard GP appointment) only a couple of years ago. Didn't know they'd stopped doing them.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
