Didn't Tesco have a problem a couple of years ago of a similar nature - points being converted to vouchers and spent, but not by the cardholder?

I'm inclined to believe it's possible. I expect it's relatively simple to generate a valid Nectar card number and print a bar code with that number and test it at a self-service checkout in Sainsbury's. There's no cardholder verification at all at the point of sale when spending Nectar points.0
