Aluminium front doors

Following on from this thread here , one option we've been offered is an aluminium front door. I've had a search on here but the last threads were from 2014 and earlier.
Any thoughts on an aluminium front door? It would have a side panel as well and etched or satin glass for privacy but still let lots of light through.
