Can't take my number because I've switched "regularly"

Hi all,

Just been doing my annual hunt for the best broadband deal and have been told by the provider I want to switch to that I can't keep my phone number "due to the number being transferred to different providers several times".

Has anyone else come across this issue before? Seems very anti-competitive to me....

Thanks in advance
J

Sounds like it's more to do with the fact they don't want the hassle of arranging the number port rather than any procedural problem with the number of times you have previously ported the number between providers.
If they won't import the number from whoever currently has it there probably isn't much you can do , apart from find a provider that will port the number.
Only you can decide if keeping the number is a deal breaker or not, or if the number is important enough to consider using a different provider that won't just fob you off

Seems like they don't want your business, which is their right. It's not anti-competitive, they aren't stopping you going with any of their many competitors.
