Car Hire France

Hello
I’m trying to sort car hire for myself when I go to Limoges next week, thanks to being donated a weeks holiday let by Help for Heroes. The car hire company I want to use (Hertz) is insisting I must have a credit card with £1500 limit available or leave €1300 cash deposit. I do not have a credit card due to poor credit nor do I have €1300 spare. Can anyone recommend a car hire company where I don’t need to leave a deposit or I can use my mums (who will be travelling with me) credit card? I am travelling in a wheelchair so car hire is really needed.
Thanks

If your mum has a driving licence she can rent the car, using her card, with you as secondary driver.
Most hire firms require credit card to guarantee the insurance excess (debit card sometimes acceptable), unless you buy their extra cover to bring the excess to zero.
Are you buying CDW excess cover separately? If not, and you don't have enough for a cash deposit, how would you cover the excess amount in case of any damage to the car?Evolution, not revolution0 -

First thing that can be done is for your mum to make you an additional cardholder on her credit card. Problem solved. She can change it after the car hire if you aren't good with credit.
If you do this, absolutely purchase car hire excess insurance; https://www.carhireexcess.co.uk
But next week is probably too soon.
Otherwise the car would have to be booked in your mum's name with her as the primary driver. You can be added as a secondary driver.
