  • Hi i was wondering if someone could help me i have an account with Very catalogue. Back in March i viewed my statement via the internet and i noticed that i was paying for 'account cover plus protects payments and purchases' even though i had never asked for it and didnt know what it was i had never seen it before as it wasnt on my paper statements. I informed Very of this and they stopped it straight away. Does anybody know if i would be able to claim the many payments back i had made before this time? Can i use the same paperwork used for the loan claims?
    Thanks

Hi, how do you know that there were "many payments" gone to this "account cover plus" if it never showed on your statements.

I think that the statements online are exactly what you would receive in the post and if it was not showing then, then I would doubt it was actually collected on your account. Maybe it was only recent and you caught it in time.
  • To Marshallka -
Your right i have just printed out a statement and it is on there, however i have checked my online statements (they only go as far back as Jan so i am unsure of how long i was actaully paying it for) and it shows i paid around £9 a month for this 'account cover plus' The fact is i never asked for this but yet they still charged me for it, where do you think i should go from here.

I would perhaps make a complaint for the misselling if it was applied without your knowledgte of it but you would really need to see when this was applied and how it was applied beforehand. Perhaps a SAR would be best before making the complaint.

There is a template for the SAR letter here but it does cost you £10 and they have 40 days to send it back to you. Its all the information they hold on you and goes back 6 years mostly. This would then give you an idea of when they first applied it. If it was that this was applied before Jan 2005 then you would be best to try to claim from the insurer as I don't think that they were regulated before that although not 100% sure.

You would send to the ones that sold/applied the PPI. I assume it was Very.

Hi All.I'm really sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place (not sure how to ask a new question)
Anyway can anyone help in a nutshell I was mis sold ppi on a loan of 35,000 that was on a single premium of £6650 in Feb 2003. Due to getting into arrears we have realised that we have been misold it and that it only lasted 5 yeras of a loans!
We sent the ist letter which they repiled that it was timed barred and that they were not members of the fos in 2003 so out of their juristication. So sent second letter to them stating the Limitations Act 32c which they replied that it was still time barred and outside FOS juristication.
My question is really where do we go from here?
    Any ideas
I've checked with the FLA and Central Capital have been members since 2008 can I still go that way for a claim?
Am I just left with the option of taking them to court? If so where do I start?
    Thank you
Sorry haven't been here in a while but after threatening central capital with court action they replied that they would strongley defend any proceedings and will apply to strike out on the basis that the claim is statue barred.
Everyone is telling me its not statue barred as I only became aware of the mis selling in Feb 2010 but Central capital still won't have it.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
    Thanks

    Hi there

I would give the FOS a ring to make sure on this just as a general query, they may even suggest other ways around this otherwise, good luck and please keep us posted.

    Me again!

Not been on for a while ( Personal Problems ) got a response from NIG concerning mis-sold PPI from YCC they as expected, said not mis-sold so basically they can't help. Will get back into the groove & send off the FOS questionaire to them & see where it takes me.

The FSA say firms can time bar if the complaint is not made in the first 6 years or 3 years since the customer realised there is a cause to complain, which ever is the longest.
