Halifax Cash Deposit Machine - How to?

I've used the machine to deposit a cheque before, but never cash. Do you put all the notes in together and then it counts them and the total, or do you have to enter the notes separately?

Halifax is up to 50 notes at a time no need to split into denominations or face any way just no staples or bands and any folded ones are returned for second attempt.
