Working as a Courier driver with EU licence

Exchange your EU license for a UK one. We're going to be leaving the EU in 10 months time at which point your license may not be valid to use in the UK.
That is vanishingly unlikely. Even if the current EU arrangement were to cease suddenly, he would still be able to drive on a "foreign" licence for a specified period just as he would pre-EU.
If it were to happen, and the OP had taken your advice, he would be stuck with a GB licence which he would be unable to exchange in his home country.0 -

No doubt he could get a replacement in his home country.0 -

And no doubt you can predict how each of 27 different European countries would deal with this hypothetical and unlikely situation.0 -

It depends on whether or not we recognise them. Already the EU has said they may not recognise UK licenses when we leave and we may require International Drivers Permits to drive in the EU post Brexit. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Even if that were to happen, the OP would still be able to drive here. An IDP is a mere formality, it's simply a translation of one's national licence. It depends on whether or not we recognise them. If the EU have really said that - which I doubt - it sounds like an empty threat. We didn't need IDPs pre-EU.0 -

Same as the uk would, you request a duplicate and they send it out.0 -
;74341562]The whole point of EU licences is that they have the same entitlements throughout the EU. All GB licences are EU licences.
But not all EU licences are UK licences. It's impossible for them to check for conviction history on non-UK licences, as they can with UK ones.
No, it isn't. Not if they make the same requirement of all their potential drivers, regardless of nationality. They simply need to treat UK and non-UK EU nationals the same.I believe that their insisting on a GB licence is discriminatory. You need employment law advice, not a motoring forum.
Is the residential address on the non-UK EU licence a valid one? Obviously, the holder is UK resident, else they wouldn't be applying for a job here...0 -

We didn't have to deal with spiteful deliberately obstructive unelected dictatorial bureaucrats then.0 -

What makes you think they'd be spiteful and obstructive now, especially since any licensing arrangements will be reciprocal?
BTW Even British bureaucrats are generally unelected.0
