New to Comping

I expect I'm being really naive ... Just started comping and I'm being plagued by sales calls as I've given phone number to enter competitions. Any advice or tips please ?

Watch out for the tick boxes. You do not need to accept third party calls to be in for the chance to win, you all have an equal amount of chance.

Also look to see if your phone number is required, most of the time it isn't. The requirements usually have a star * next to them or say (Required)

Welcome to the world of comping! Unfortunately the most you can do now is to answer the sales calls and say please take me off the list, but it doesn't stop your number being sold on for more sales purposes.

Make sure you avoid those sites that are known to spam- there's a list on here somewhere.

I only enter competitions listed on MSE and always read the tick boxes to ensure I tick the right one. Rarely receive spam phone calls.
