We have been thinking of getting a pressure washer for some time - for car and patio cleaning -

and need a long pressure hose.

http://www.nilfiskoutlet.co.uk/products/product.asp?id=5403 - appears to be a good buy
What concerns me is the fact that this is a refurbished model - any experience welcome ...
Thanks

Why the need for the 'long pressure hose' ?

This might have been covered recently here

I remembered someone with a similar/same username asking about pressure washers and found this thread:

    Did you not buy one?

Downsides of refurbished unit (not checked details) is normally less warranty (6 months instead of 2 years) and fewer or missing bits of equipment.

    No I didn't - hence the post !!
    How reliable are they ?
Am I liable to claim on the warranty ?

Nilfisk generally very good and I've never had to claim. Then again, my C120 broke down after 5 years and I replaced with another Nilfisk pressure washer.

The problem is that a refurb unit might work well and then fail after six months. If it fails within that time, you'll have to claim on warranty. It depends on whether you're happy with that risk.

I own an Aldi Workzone pressure washer. 3 years warranty and made by Karcher. Not had any issues with it in the 3 years I have owned it.

I looked at the same outlet website last week. In the end I bought a C120 from Amazon. Price was very reasonable and it enabled me to clean some very very grimy second hand patio slabs so they look almost new. Even had had plaster mixed on them, mould, you name it they had it on them, it all came off. Took a while though and as is common with these things the pipe thing was too short so I sat in a chair and did it lol (bad back). Hurt my hands pressing the lever but just went away and came back later on.

The C120 set I picked came with a patio cleaner and a brush to do cars with. Plenty powerful enough for the job. No point in buying something more powerful than you need.

I'm afraid I paid less than this last week. Its very small. So easy to store (unlike the one I had before, Nilfisk seem to have shrunk them since lol).

When I looked at the outlet site, they had the patio cleaners on there for a small amount so if you buy from there you could get a normal pressure washer and add a patio cleaner if you wanted.
