Which Karcher ?

I am looking at Karcher pressure washers - but am confused at which model to get
The K2 Premium Home and Car is 1400 watts and costs £139.99 in Argos
The K2 Full Control is also 1400 watts and also costs £139.99 in Argos - but comes with an extra long high pressure hose
We need the patio cleaner attachment but also need it for car cleaning
So apart from the extra long hose - what is the difference between these two models ?

  • The full control model is newer and has selectable settings to determine the correct pressure for various things. There appears to be one that comes with the patio cleaner, car brush and car shampoo but it looks to be £155.

Doesn't the full control car and home model come with all of those ?
I can't see one at £155 in Argos

There's the K2 Full control, and the K2 Full control home and car which is where I was confused as I didn't realise you were talking about the latter.

Got for the full control one. Newer.

Wickes have the K2 premium home at £79.99 - I am now utterly confused - the K2 Premium home includes both a patio cleaner and the vario power spray gun but a shorter pressure hose !!

Just to add to your confusion - it would be worth looking at the Nilfisk range as well. Perhaps not quite so well-known as Karcher, but pretty good machines. This may be of some help : http://pressurewasherreviewer.co.uk/karcher-vs-nilfisk-pressure-washer-what-rules-the-game/

It's not surprising you're confused, multi-tier marketing approaches are rather irritating. Go with whatever is cheapest and does what you need.

Appears to be a good buy (1/2 the cost of hte equivalent Karcher) !! at less than £100.
Nilfisk are apparently constructed from aluminium rather than flimsy plastic that Karchers are...............

+1 for Nilfisk Alto and with the additional attachments it looks a good buy. I don't think any of the patio cleaner attachments are that good and prefer to rely on higher pressure. Think mine is 140bar but for more pressure you pay more money.

I've had one for a few years and as long as they aren't kept in a cold shed over the Winter they will last for years.

I wouldn't worry about the patio cleaner. I've got one, but its much easier to use the wand, which is very effective.

You definitely need to be able to vary the pressure for cleaning the car.

And the car wash brush is available to buy separately if it doesn't come with the model you buy.

Still haven't got a pressure washer yet !!
Homebase have K4 full control at £189.99 and the K4 Full control premium at £294.50
the only difference, as far as I can see is the lack of pressure pipe in the full control one
but surely this is a vital part of the kit ?
