Playmobil Knights Castle Bargain!

  • My kids are 4, 2 and 8 months. The 4 and 2 year olds absolutely love their playmobil sets (I've removed a few of the very very tiny things e.g. flower heads), and the 8 month year old has to be kept away from it.

What about getting your kids a playmobil advent calendar for the run up to christmas - they cost around £10 and they have one with knights in (or alternatively a pink princess castle one too) http://www.mailorderexpress.com/PlaymobilShop/Index.html and they get a little playmobil figure on the run up to christmas -

you could then get what ever castle/fort you wanted for Christmas day, and all the playmobil people from the advent calendar could go and live in it. I like the look of this one - it's a lot of castle for your money http://www.gltc.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=2991&source=GGG01 add a few playmobil knights, cannons, horses, vikings, barbarians, etc.. for lots of fun!

    Lauren
Hiya, he will be 5 on 15th December this year, he was born on my mum's b.day !
I dont think its very nice being a child & having a birthday so close to christmas!
    (Me reminising below)
I always think back to when i was little and looked forward to xmas, then I had 4 months to look forward to my b.day. Then looked forward summer hols, (sisters b.day) sometime get a small pressie, then countdown to christmas.
I just feel like he will miss out on that experiance that I had. Cause all his friends are all excited about christmas, but he is still young at the moment.
Also he gets a few joint pressies.

Playmobil is fantastic and worth every penny. But be warned - the new Playmobil Knights Castle is not compatible with the earlier models i.e. you cannot add to it using bits from other kits.
This was one of the great things about the Knights Castle sets - you could buy extra bits on Ebay and keep making bigger and better castles.
    Still a fantastic price though!

  • If you don't want the knights castle then tk maxx had a smaller version that I had never seen before - not the knights rock castle - sort of between the two! reduced from £90 to £30.
Definitely the modern type of castle though - not the old one.
They also had the supermarket but I didn't get the price.

Just found it on amazon - eagle castle - 5783

    This was in Kings Lynn

I have just been to tk maxx to see what they had and i got the supermarket set. Be careful and look at the price labels though as the one i picked up first was £49.99 and whilst looking around there was one for £39.99 exactly the same and scanned through as the supermarket as well so not the wrong
    label.

bargain as this is normally about £90!!

the above link is the one i got for £39.99
  • I've only just come across this doing a google search on Playmobil and TK Maxx. You have to take the TK Maxx prices with a bit of salt. The £39.99 castle is actually one produced for the American mass market and probably retailed for $40 there. I doubt it was ever £90, as you can get the much larger System X knights castle from their normal catalogue for between £90 and £100.

I was looking for this as I'd hoped I'd be able to pick up the smaller castle at TK Maxx in the Christmas sales. It was reduced to £27 but I still didn't think that was good value for what it was - partly because I think a discount store should be giving real discounts.

They were also selling the Supermarket before Christmas for £60. Although this is a bit cheaper than what it was originally (around £75 I think), it has been long discontinued and I've seen it for £30 elsewhere. I therefore always wait for the red reduced stickers.

Bargains I have got at TK Maxx in the past include the Playmobil Baron's Tower, which was originally selling for £40 (reduced from about £50), and then reduced to £27. I know someone else who got it at TK Maxx for £18!
