URGENT advice needed pushed into buying a business ad

An e-signature is just as valid as written signature.
You would have had to open a legal document on your computer, click the signature and write your name. It is difficult to believe that you would have done that without knowing what you were doing.
I think what you have to do now is contact Yell in a written form (email or letter) briefly explaining recent events and confirming that you have not agreed to engage their services.
There is very little to be gained by speaking to Yell on the phone, since you will not have any record of the discussion.0 -
Hi - I might be able to help with this. Sales at Yell often take your bank card, they say to run a credit check on you to see if you can have the advert they are trying to sell. What they don't tell you is they are setting up the direct debit at the same time which makes an E-Contract (legal with business to business selling).
Now you are going to have a problem I'm afraid, If you cancel the DD and default they immediately refer you to Moorcroft who collect debts.
If you call you will not be able to contact the relevant cancellation team, there isn't one it's one designed to retain your business. That's if you get through, if they raise a ticket it will be weeks before it is looked at.
What I would do in addition to whatever you are doing now is email the Chief Executive of Yell. Email Richard.Hanscott@yell.com and copy in contactus@yell.com. On both quote you account number and details of the complaint as above saying how you were missold, pushed into it and it's effecting your health, Cancel the direct debit so they do not take any more money, it is a nightmare to get back. By emailing the boss of Yell it will mean the complaint is looked at quickly and dealt with correctly.
For the benefit of anyone reading this thread I have a lot of experience with Yell knowing a lot of staff who have recently left the business. They use E-Contracting and as soon as they get your card details they will sign you up. You will then be in contract and there is NO cooling off period as all contracts are business to business. Also what they are selling you won't be very good - they build websites / PPC campaigns etc. in India. They are one of the worst companies operating that I'm aware of.
Hope this helps -
Very useful Johnny. This from a company who claim to help small businesses!:mad:0
