    My cat did that at around the same age. It was related to a kidney problem.

    I do wonder about that, but they were able to do a urine test recently which ruled that out. Besides, from previous experience, she doesn't have the classic symptom of wanting to drink. She does though 'smack' a lips as if there's a bad taste.

    The other, possibility we wondered about is whether she may have an enlarged heart?
