Cat - dripping/drooling!

Noticed our cat of thirteen starting to 'drip' while we're thinking must arrange a visit to the vet, it stopped. However, several days later it started again.
Didn't bother with consultation appointment, skipped that, went for dental appointment - early morning, sedation, x-rays, scale & polish with extractions under advisement.
Had a call early afternoon, at least one possibly two needs to come out, 'OK' I said.
Picked her up late afternoon, took her home together with painkiller medication, with instructions - no dried food.
Just over a week later, still dripping, Vet checked her out - mouth helped well, stitches held and wound healed. Sure advised that 'dripping' can take two- to - three weeks.
Not quite two weeks yet, but it would be nice to see less drools dangling down!!
Anyone else had anything similar experiences??

The only time my old cat used to drool was when he was in the car and totally traumatised! His mouth would hang open like he'd broken his jaw. Probably totally different, but I wonder whether she might be scared or traumatised/upset over something. Not sure I'd have immediately thought of teeth (well, maybe would have thought there was a broken/snapped tooth meaning she couldn't close her mouth properly), but would more likely have worried more that she'd hit it or had a mini-stroke or something.
Hope she's okay!2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Our first cat used to drool when he got over excited. You'd have to sit with an old towel on your lap if he decided he wanted a cuddle otherwise you'd be soaked. And he went bananas if you whistled a tune, that was it, full on purring, paddling with paws and drooling.Make £2025 in 2025

Haha yeah mine does that too - dribbles when really fussed and happy and licks hands a bit. And I had a cat that used to suckle all my clothes when I stroked her. She was a massive licker - she'd lick my hand so until it hurt! Funny creatures.
Second cat would lick your hand raw if you'd been swimming and he could smell chlorine.Make £2025 in 2025

Mine drools in his sleep! Was awful on our pale sofa as you could see where the wet patches had left little stains! Hope your puss feels better soon0

Are its eyes dripping too or not?0

My cat did that at around the same age. It was related to a kidney problem.0

Both of our (unrelated) cats did the same, a few months ago - aged 14 and 13
They both had a number of teeth removed by the vet - the 14 year old eventually had 7 removed - after a second and third visit for "missed" teeth !!
They have both stopped drooling .....and are both able to eat crunchy food as before.0 -
Well, when I had root planing (which is essentially what a scale and polish means once a mammal has got to the stage of losing teeth - lots of going well below the gum line and scraping, plus teeth shifting due to the calculi not pushing them apart anymore), it took a good month and a half for my mouth to stop hurting - and I didn't need stitches, which makes her dental treatment even more extensive.
I've recently had a simple scale and polish (so no going under the gum line) - this is the first week in three that I haven't been plagued by sensitivity and random aches and pains from the procedure. And getting a bit of crunchy food stuck in a slightly tender bit of the gum pocket before it's had the chance to heal up - OWWWWWWWWW!
I wouldn't be surprised if she's still feeling discomfort, as she's had a lot of intense work done. Just make sure that when she jumps on the bed, you sit up, thus avoiding the dribble in the face business!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
