Ah yes, the work email is @ a company. So they'll know what the two different sent boxes are for? I'll try them for sure...
I just thought I'd be able to find someone who understands the complexities of Microsoft Outlook... they are the ones who've added the two sent boxes and not the company I work for...0 -
Not sure how much you can play with (work Outlook) but 1 icon may refer to server storage (at your work) and the other may be local storage (on your computer).

Thanks. Perhaps that's it. I can't find any specific reference to these two folders though. Surely other people must have the same confusion...
I thought it was all server based so I can access it anywhere. It's very odd.0 -

Ah yes, but that would only be a problem if you wanted your work to be able to get in touch with you. I welcome that situation - "sorry, couldn't do work, no email connection."0 -

Back to the original question, there's a setting somewhere that allows you to file sent replies in the folder the original message is is rather than the sent items folder. That might be what's going on.
The outbox is a temporary folder for messages you've sent but they've not been passed on to the Exchange server - because you're offline for example.0
