0.7% "cashback" without Amex?

I'm currently getting 0.7% cashback everywhere using a combination of cards. Asda credit card to pay initially (the no fee one) then as Creation let you pay your bill with another credit card clearing that with my 0.5% Barclaycard. Just wondered does anyone know if that works with other 0.5% cashback cards that are still available to new customers?

I called it "cashback" rather than cashback as the Asda rewards are paid in vouchers rather than cash.

I really didnt belive creation would let u pay with a credit card, but I tired paying my Asda card with my Barclaycard and it went through. I didnt think you could pay a credit card with a credit card!

This certainly didn't used to work, though I haven't tried recently.

There's a strong chance of the card you pay with treating the payment as a cash advance and charging interest/fees, so be careful...

For the minimal amount of extra reward (and in Asda vouchers) on the very small part of my spend that can't go on Amex, its neither worth the effort; the risk (of being charged as a cash advance of the other card); or the commencement of a relationship with a sub-prime provider.

I'll get some things straight here

1. It does work with Barclaycard, they do treat it as a purchase and you do get the cashback (I've had a bill since I tried doing it) I don't see how they could change to calling it a purchase without changing the terms and notifying you.

2. If you're going to try any other 0.5% card see if that works I strongly advise a small first transaction in case they do treat it as an advance. If you do please let us know!

3. I didn't need a new card to do it, I already had an Asda card from when it offered better non Asda rewards and have had the Barclaycard since it was Egg Money.

4. The little reward isn't so little for me, I pay both my own and my dad's tax bill online (he gives me the cash for his) by card using Curve. That generates a decent chunk back on top of my normal spending.

Confirmed that Amazon Mastercard through NewDay treat payments of ASDA credit card as a purchase, not an advance.

Did you pay the amazon Masterdard using Asda Creditcards. How did you do purchase using creditcard 16 digit number ??

Has anyone tried paying off an Amex with a NewDay credit card or Barclaycard?
