Flight delay

Wonder if anyone can help me please?
Home today after a 23 hour delay.
So firstly how can I find out why the delay happened?
I know what the pilot told us today, but forgive me I'm sceptical.
Secondly I've looked on EU.claims. and it's telling me were not entitled to compensation!! Think it might be because the flight number stayed the same. Just left 23 hours late!!!
FYI we should have flown Sat 26 may 14.10 burgas to London Gatwick. 15.40
Instead we flew Sun 27 May 13.30 Burgas 16.00 London Gatwick

Also put your flight details into bottonline and see what they say. By the way what were your flight details.0

I have and whatever I put into EUclaims, it says we don't qualify.
Our original flight was MT1053 14.10 BOJ to LGW 26/5
We actually left on MT1053 approx 13.30 27/50 -
Try bottonline if they say you don't qualify then you probably don't qualify What reason were you given and was your flight delayed or cancelled0

The pilot said, the plane had a technical fault back on Thursday night. And that caused a knock on effect
It's even mentioned in the independent newspaper. Although our flight isn't mentioned in that article.
How can we not be entitled to anything, given the length of the delay?
I believe the problem is the fact we kept the same flight number, is this possible?
And I just don't know how to find out what the real reason for the dleay was!!!0 -

The independent report, which fits what the pilot told us.
Although of course it might be another problem TC suffered0 -
FlightStats have MT1053 departing 1410 and arrriving 1540 on 26 May. Clearly incorrect from your experience. I wonder if Eu.claim gets its data feed from there.0

That's how it should've happened.
But we definitely didn't fly at that time.
We was informed as we arrived to the pickup point that there was a dleay, which we already gathered as I'd been watching Gatwick departure and knew the outbound hadn't left yet. Wasn't quite expecting to be told 23 hours delay.
We ended up back in the rooms we'd just vacated, and enjoyed the hotel for an extra day.
Pick up should've been 9.45 actually turned up at 10.45!!
Total lack of communication from TC during the delay too.0 -
And yes possibly because when I put in our replacement flight which is the same number, it just directs us to the Sat flight.
There was lots of misinformation, for example the flight leaving BOJ was timed at 14.10 on the departure boards in Bulgaria like it should've been the previous day
We was told 12.30 departure which became 13.30.0 -
I would leave it a few days and check again on Claim.eu to see if the information has been updated.
My son!!!8217;s girlfriend Easyjet flight back from Copenhagen was cancelled last. easyJet still had it showing as operating to time yet Gatwick Airport!!!8217;s website had the outbound flight displayed for some hours as cancelled. I think between the French ATC strike, the bad weather in parts of the U.K., the fuel issue at STN, a couple of technical issues and grounds collisions- it must have been a nightmare working in flight operations these passed few days.0 -
Interesting if you put your flight down as cancelled EuClaim say you are due 400euro0
