    OK peeps.

Maybe I should make myself clearer:

Yes, I am aware it can go horribly wrong. This is EXACTLY why I'm hoping that someone will be able to say something along the lines of "I had mine done by XXXX a couple of years ago and he did a really good job". I'm not interested in people reminding me that there are people who have had bad experiences because like every other kind of surgery there are risks.

Yes, I know that a Harley Street is just an address and that was my point. We had naysayers stating that when you go aborad you never know what you're getting. My POINT was that the same can be said about Harley Street.

I am on minimum wage. I am saving hard for a boob job but at the present rate I am saving about £600 a year and, unless I can get a GOOD, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED surgeon in a place where it's a lot cheaper than the UK then I will probably have to save another 8 or 9 years just to get enough to pay for one at the prices they are now. This means I will probably have to save probably another 2 years beyond that because of inflation.

Yes I know aftercare is going to be a problem but I was hoping to get some ADVICE on that too. I know that some US and European surgeons have arrangements in place where any aftercare will be taken up by a UK based consultancy and I was hoping that someone may have had experience of that too.

Cosmetic surgery is said to be cheaper in places like Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Serbia which all have to conform to the same EU standards that the rest of the EU does. I have heard of people being delighted with their results from these places and some who have been disappointed. This is why I'm asking for recommendations.

My sister in law went to the netherlands and had no issues - can find out the details if you want. Was several years ago now

Thank you so much. that would be wonderful and exactly the sort of information I was looking for.

Take a second job and put your savings in a high-interest account? £600 per year will barely get you private dentistry let alone breast augmentation/reduction by a reputable surgeon.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and I hope you manage to get your op done, as it's clearly something you're longing to do.

That also means that with an average replacement cycle of 10 - 15 years, you will be constantly saving, and what would you do if replacement was needed before that?

A nurse of mine developed a leak in one of hers. That was after about 9 years. Nothing was 'to blame' - just one of those things.

The NHS would remove it for her, but that was it, and it wasn't considered 'urgent'.

Fortunately, she went in to it with her eyes open. She knew this was a risk (her surgeon warned her clearly) and she had made provision for it. Obviously it was a shock, and an expense she could have done without (she is on much more than minimum wage, but Dental nursing is not a 'well paid' job by any stretch. Her original surgeon did the replacement.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Whilst I respect people are entitled to do what they like with their body, I have to say that I find boob jobs rather unattractive.

It's a bit like wearing excessive make-up - can be OK from a distance, but up close it's not so nice.

    Just my opinion...

If you look at the link for Nuffield Hospitals posted above, you will see that they offer interest free loans for medical procedures. They also have no time limits on aftercare following surgery.

It is not like other surgery. Which other surgery involves putting bags of bathroom sealant into the body? Breast reduction is OK as that just involves removing fat. Most women having the operation are so healthy and beautiful - why do they want to be mutilated?
Surely two big bags of fat and silicone on the front of you just make you unbalanced.

It's just clip art for a 'health science career' as far as I can make out.
