Boob Jobs!

Thanks for the replies peeps but looking around this site I should have known I wouldn't get anywhere near the answer I was looking for. LOL
Now then, I did say in my opening post that I was looking for Value For Money. I'm not so stupid that I'm going to go to some back street butcher nor will I even consider going anywhere at all until they've been fully checked out. The sort of answer I was looking for was something like: "You should try Poland, they're a third of the price they are here." Or "How about Thailand? I had mine done there and it's the best 3K I ever spent..." etc.
I have heard stories about people who have paid 6.5K to have it done in the UK and they've been disfigured for life after going to a "reputable" place in Harley Street and at the same time I've heard of people who have gone to a clinic in the Phillipines and spent about £500 and have had the best boob job ever. Just because you pay a lot for your surgery doesn't neccesarily mean it's the best. My preferred option would be to have it done by a surgeon (privately) who works for the NHS because they'd be bound to do a good job but that avenue is closed.
Harley Street is an address not a qualification. All you need to get a clinic on Harley Street is the rent!
"Best boob job ever" for £500 in Thailand - until you find out a few years later what was used. If you're lucky, via something like Watchdog, if you're unlucky, when something life threatening is diagnosed later on.
You cannot choose these things on price, country, or postcode.
You need to find a surgeon who you can trust, who you can speak to previous patients of, and who is not afraid to speak to you honestly about the possible risks as well. Then, you pay them what they charge.
Things do go wrong for good surgeons too. It's people we're dealing with, and people some times have bad reactions to surgical procedures whatever precautions are taken and qualifications a surgeon has.
The more care you take in finding your surgeon, the better chance you have - but the way you are approaching it, you're making it a lottery. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Actually, Toothsmith, the OP could do worse than read your signature about finding a dentist and apply it to finding a surgeon for a boob job.0

My sister in law went to the netherlands and had no issues - can find out the details if you want. Was several years ago now0

I wonder if the OP will return with details of this marvellous surgeon with great prices that she has now found. Cynical, me?0

search for a surgeon on the BAAPS website https://baaps.org.uk/
Do lots and lots of research. There are plenty of forums out there where patients/would be patients ask questions and read reviews.
I don't know what you mean by boob job? I had a reduction at a cost of £6.5K that was a fixed price and included all consultations, the surgery itself and all the follow up appointments and a small scar revision. from start to finish this was around 8 months. Just after the op I went to see my surgeon the following week, then every other week and then once a month until she was happy to sign me off.
You wouldn't get that in Poland or elsewhere however good the surgeon was who does the op itself.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Why mutilate your body with foreign objects. There are plenty of horror stories on the net0

It was an example (and exaggeration) of the sorts of answers I was looking for...
I haven't found a surgeon charging great prices for a good job which is precisely why I asked the question in the first place!
Or are you just a bit to cynical to realise that?0 -

Firstly, they have access to exactly the same information I have access to so are no better informed than I am.
Secondly, they're either unwilling or unable to recommend a surgeon with whom they have not had experience.0 -
If you have a Nuffield hospital near you it might be worth trying them?
