xiaomi mi a1

I have a xiaomi mi a1, I am on vodafone UK and have a nano sim. Its a dual sim model.

I'm traveling to Australia several times this year, and and thinking of buying a PAYG sim in australia as a cheaper way of keeping in touch with home.

What size sim do I need? The 'slot' looks like its for a mico sim, but the phone specs say a nano sim. I've tried google, but cannot find a definitive answer.

Thanks

xiaomi mi a1 takes a NANO sim

most Sim cards bought at present are micro and push out to become a nano Sim in seconds so you are sorted

I was in Australia earlier this year and just used my 3 payg sim with a Feel at Home add on. This includes calls to the UK, text messages and a data allowance.

It worked well for me as it also covered Hong Kong and Singapore which were also on our route.

Without checking the specs, I'd guess that this is because the second SIM slot (or tray space) is 'hybrid', accommodating either a nano SIM or a micro SD card. So it looks bigger than the other slot, and the nano SIM fits across the space instead of lengthways like the SD card does.

eDicky is exactly right. I have this phone and use two nano SIM cards. I have no need for a SD card as the phone has 64GB internal storage which is enough for me.

Thanks, I think you are right.
  • Yes it is correct, one slot is a hybrid for sim or sd.
