Of course you can, some banks will even pay you a bonus for doing it. Even if you don't qualify for a bonus you can still switch and no DDs etc are required. A bonus is a perk, not an essential part of switching.

You can switch the TSB account into an already open account you have. Contact your existing bank (or do it online) to initiate the switch of the TSB account into your account that you already have. No bonus of course, but the TSB accout will be closed and the balance transferred over.

Thanks again. The reason I thought I couldn't switch to an existing account was because I asked Barclays if I could do this (I kept the joint bank account I had with Mum after she died) they said an existing customer can't switch to them, it has to be done manually.
