TSB Address

Options
I'm trying to close my TSB current account but I can't find an address to write to them. I don't have a local branch and I'm certainly not going to try phoning them. Does anyone know if I can close the account in writing?

Thanks

    TSB, PO Box 1, BX4 7SB

    from their Personal Banking T&Cs

As to whether they'll accept an instruction in writing to close an account - I don't know, most do but I distinctly remember having to visit a branch in person to close down at least one account.

Rather than just close it why not switch to another bank and take the bonus. Your TSB account will be closed as part of the process without any involvement by you.

I was going to suggest that, but thought the OP might not want to risk people being notified that he's died ;)

TSB will probably acknowledge the closure by writing to Skippy13 as Mr Skippy13 (deceased);)

Thanks everyone, I'll try writing to them.

I'd thought about switching but I don't have any direct debits going out of the account so I presume there's no point. At least they couldn't tell anyone I'm dead!

Just initiate a switch from your current bank - the tsb account will be closed down as part of the switch.

To add to previous post make sure you transfer the balance before starting the switch incase YSB 's IT meltdown affects you.

I transferred the balance this morning and I'm now drip feeding it into a monthly saver as I don't know where else to put it!

I've been looking at accounts to find one to switch to but I've either had or have got the ones with a decent bonus and I can't switch to the ones that are already open. Won't a bank think it's strange to be starting a switch when there's no DDs or standing orders?

    Sorry if I'm being thick!

I've switched an account that was too inconvenient to close another way on several occasions. It probably doesn't look any stranger than transferring money back and forth between two accounts every month, which I also do.

Nothing wrong with that at all.
