Windows 10
Yesterday i started getting errors as per the thread title when i try to open apps, and on start up as apps including anti-virus dont load up. I can still use Firefox and am using it to type this.
I think it may be some malware that has caused this, and I may need to do a fresh install of windows. However I have some files on the hard drive which I'd like to keep but it wont let me move them to a USB drive. Can anyone help?

You could try using a live Linux image to boot the PC and copy any files over. Slax is simple and does everything "out of the box" (last time I checked):
https://www.slax.org/
To recover badly infected machines, I find the Avast Rescue Disc to be really effective. If you have a second PC, you can install Avast and create a "Rescue Disc" (CD/DVD/USB) to boot from. Then run CCleaner (to delete old cached files), then Malwarebytes and adwCleaner to pick up anything Avast missed.0 -
After the malware checks, if nothing was found....
the easy one first, I would start by looking at this and doing a repair as it is a matter cmd (admin) and paste the repair commands

The better way is to look in event viewer, most times system list the problem, but too in applications too0 -

Have you just had a Windows 10 update? If so try asking Auntie Google using W10 update + 0xc00000050

Tried the comments before my post above ? Start at #2, if it does not work Try #3 BUT do not install it - make a live usb key and boot from it, use it to copy file (do not install it), Still not working try #4
The better way is to look in event viewer, most times system list the problem, but also look under applications too < modified my last line to make sense
Then there is this <found via google, 3rd one down on the list> http://www.eassos.com/how-to/fix-error-code-0xc0000005.php
Also your links do not work and want to take me to an outlook page0 -
