Unfortunately it would seem not. All they have to do is let you leave your contract without penalty and notice - which doesn't always help.
Out of interest how did they notify you? - I've yet to have my notification come through but expecting it....0 -

It's on the cheap side but not "a very good price" for only 1GB of data and a 12 month commitment.
