Just wonderful and what joy in not paying £90.

Why didn't you find someone in Denmark or Finland that was selling the battery that you didn't need?

Those countries are normally far more expensive than the UK and if you had taken the battery out of your laptop before looking there then you would be even happier as you would now have a working laptop and you would have saved £100+ instead of only £90.

Let me get this right ..

You are praising HP because the laptop they created stopped detecting the battery , but then started again

And you are praising PC world for quoting you £90 (lol) for a new one ?

!!!!!! You are very easily pleased :)

Of all the bonkers threads to have appeared over the years on MSE, this must be amongst the most bonkers. Still, if the OP's contented, all's well -- and if PC World has just named the OP, 'Customer of The Decade', so much the better, really. Though 'Customer of This or Any Other Century' would've been even better. :)

Probably better to just post when it dies rather than posting every couple of days saying it's still working

But that would deny everyone the vital information which the OP thinks they're waiting breathlessly to learn.

On which note, my left front Michelin Primacy is still turning. I thought I was going to have to replace it when it seemed flat but then my neighbour said, why not go to Tesco and use the air pump on their petrol station forecourt?

So I did. My tyre is working like new again. I have saved £125. Praise for my neighbour and Tesco Air Pumps.
