Morning all,
A late night for me last night as I got engrossed in a film. I say engrossed, I didn't understand the ending then and sure as heck still don't understand it now. Can't believe I stayed up till nearly 1 to watch that tripe.
It's raining so I'll wait for a break in the rain before going down the chemist to sort out Grumps repeat prescriptions.
I have Diva overnight tonight. Fingers crossed she sleeps soundly.
Youngest is bringing his new lady friend home tonight. She wants to meet me apparently....looks like locking Grump up in the broom cupboard...Oh don't tempt me..
My pc is sick again. Internet on my phone only for me for the foreseeable future. I'm not going to push to get it fixed...The chair gives me backache.
Won't be seeing Prodigal till his Dads gone back to work.
Onwards and forwards

Hello all :hello::hello:. I'm ba-ack !
We got home yesterday, so I hope everyone is reasonably ok. I shall have to read back a few pages to catch up with all your news.
We had a lovely holiday and the weather has been sunny, sunny, sunny, so I'm very tanned. I'm a deep golden bronze colour ( sorry don't know how that rates on Nelski's colour chart). Thank goodness I packed some shorts because we have lived in them most of our time away ( on the camp site anyway, as I would have probably frightened people if I'd worn them on the street  ).
Woke up this morning to rain and lots of it. Made a trip to Tes*o for supplies of milk, bread, F and V and plenty of salad stuff. We have got to get back on the diet now ( too many ice creams and cream teas
).
The washing basket is like Mt Vesuvius and is overflowing :rotfl:, but it is still raining, so it will have to wait a while.
Dad's been ill again while we were away ( coincidence ? I really don't know, the jury's still out :undecided ). I shall keep trying to get him back to the GP, but at the moment it's like pulling teeth. I will have to go myself, as I have been struggling with a painful thumb/wrist. I did think I was perhaps spending too much time on the 'puter, but it doesn't seem any better after nearly 2 weeks away. I will leave it until the end of next week then decide whether to make an appointment.
On the garden front, the grass is quite long and the hedge will need a trim asap. unfortunately it's too wet to do anything. On the plus side my Rhododendron is in full bloom, a lovely shade of pinky purple and I have been watching a baby Robin sitting on the bench waiting to be fed, awww it's so cute !
Sorry I'm wittering on now, I think this afternoon we shall watch some recorded films or programmes as our box is almost full ! Tea tonight will be pork steak and a few wedgie potatoes, followed by a fruit salad. (See I can be good if I put my mind to my diet :T. )
Bargainbird lovely to " meet " you
TA I hope Mr TA improves soon. I shall send healing thoughts his way.
Holly enjoy your time away.
MrsSD glad to have you home too.
Hester my goodness, I hope something's being done about the air rifle situation. That's awful.
Hope those who work in a school have a nice, relaxing week off. I know my DD and family are also "hanging" .
Hugs to all the poorly, worried or stressed. Take care all.

There is full fat milk that OH likes but I really can't drink tea with that in, I like skimmed milk. I don't even own any pj's, btw - if ever I went into hospital, we'd have to retrieve some of Mr LW's old ones from the loft, which he used to wear before I moved in with him.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
So much for my earlier post
Wrote a ‘To Do’ List, wrote a shopping list & at 8:00 a.m. went to bed & was so exhausted fell asleep after a 15 min coughing fit
Actually slept for three hours :j & woke up feeling a bit better
especially after DH made me cup of tea :T
DH is just off with the shopping list, DSis has just cleaned her rather nice bedside lamps & DH has ordered plug converters so no rewiring will be necessary :j
DSis has been watching the wildlife in the garden - she has seen sparrows, gold finches, parakeets, a Robin, a magpie, a blue tit & great tits + the ubiquitous pigeons & hasfallen in love with the squirrels & their antics. She has also been scaring away cats & has seen three of the seven who seem to think that because we feed the birds they are entitled to invade my garden  The only thing missing so far is the fox but I think it is probably too hot for him/her to make an appearance
I have washed & waterproofed DH’s motorcycle trousers & they are now drying in the sun in my south facing garden :j:j My Sketchers are now in the wm with various bits & pieces of work clothing. I am in the midst of sorting out my handbag from 6 weeks in France to English use :T DH has returned with the shopping so we have just had a late lunch in the sunshine - sitting on our ‘new French Garden furniture’ :rotfl: I still need to sort out 6 weeks of post - pay bills, check statements etc - so I see shredding in my future.
My house looks like a warehouse with only my kitchen & DSis’s bedroom being havens of order & calm :rotfl:
Have a great day everyone.

Welcome back Mrs Salad Dodger and Nannywindow. I dont think i welcomed you back too Bargainbird, sorry.:o
Managed to fly round the house today at superspeed. Trying to get stuff done cause i know i wont get anything done later or tomorrow. Sorted Grumps prescriptions out. I dont know how i can sort his inhaler out though without him having to go to the hospital and having his lung function tested. His argument was that he cant have time off work... havent got a clue why he says that, he hasnt done a full week for quite a while... just add another day to the list. I'm not a miracle worker, he will have to sort that himself.
Waiting for Diva to come any time now. Hope she is hungry, ive got all the foods in that she loves.:) Youngest will be home soon too.
If i dont get to post later, have a good night all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Evening. And the sun is still shining with a gentle breeze blowing.
I’ve had my haircut and feel so much better for it. Been shopping for DM and giving her some pampering too. Now I'm lying on the bed reading, it's not a very good book so I'm skipping along to the end.
I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday evening.0 -

Welcome home Mrs SD and Nannywindow and also bargainbird , My sis-in-law and I had a very pleasant evening the sun came out late afternoon so I got a couple of chairs into the garden and opened a bottle of vino and we just sat and chatted for about two hours ,with me popping inside to keep and eye on my tiny chook in the SC.It was really nice with weges and salad tonight and the left overs will be curried for tomorrow nights dinner.
First time I have sat in my garden for several years as I'm usually too busy flitting around to actually sit and do nothing, but having someone to natter to and a cold glass of Pinot made all the difference
Its done her the world of good to get away from the town and out into the fresh air She lives in a third floor flat with no garden at all, jst a tiny balcony overlooking a busy ,noisy road.
I may take her for a drive down to the country park tomorrow for a gentle stroll, her knees need replacing and my joints aren't brilliant but a slow meander down by the river will do her the world of good.
Hope everyone has a good bank holiday break and gets at least a little sunshine
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0
