After work today, I will visit mom and see how she is this week. Then I will visit Mr T's on the way home and buy a new mop or mophead if I can find a replacement one.

    Morning everyone.

It's sunny in Glasgow. Fingers crossed it stays a bit longer.

This morning I've got a hair cut. I only have a dry cut as I don't like having my hair washed in the salon and my hair grows so much. Sometimes I think there's. manure in my shampoo!

No idea what DM wants to do today so I'll just have to play it by ear.

    Happy Friday to all.

    Morning

Feels so much fresher here after a good rainfall overnight. Quite glad we are in for a no sun day as the house has certainly been neglected after the run of sun. Its due back tomorrow though so its a crack on day today.

Plan is to attack the downstairs but ill leave the washing till the sun is back out.

Made a lush caesar salad last night with pancetta and chicken. Bit left over so will have that for lunch today then its pizza night tonight.

    Boring myself now :D

Happy birthday to TAs baby :)
    Enjoy your weekend Holly

    Morning everyone,

Heavy rain woke me in the night but it’s more or less stopped now, just that drizzly stuff.

AOD love the sound of your PJ’s and acting like an adult is vastly overrated my friend :D

My current energy tariff is coming to the end and am looking for a new supplier as they want to put my DD up by £4 a month :( this is one of those hate to do jobs but need to crack on, oh the joy.
Not much planned for today, the bed needs changing but the old sheets may well stay in the DLB until tomorrow when they can be dried outside. Tea is prawn pasta so easy peasy.

Have a good day folks x

I agree my mind is a lot younger than my body is by about 50 years :),
good morning chums and I hope we are all well.i have to drive to london today to pick up my sis-in-law as she is coming down for the weekend If the weather is kind we are going to DDs for a BBQ on Sunday, well even if its not we will still go there as the boys haven't seen their 'Auntie Val' for ages. She is my late brothers ex-wife and I have known her for over 40 years and she is one of my oldest friends. It will be nice to have a good long natter and a glass of wine tonight. I have a small chicken from Aldi's to pop into the slow cooker It it more than enough for us two with no doubt meat left over ,and at £2.09 it will streetch to a couple of meals for us . I had seen it online so I nipped in yesterday and bought one Hopefully with a few herbs and spices it will be Ok. This time next week I shall be setting off on my holiday to Stratford-upon-Avon for a week so I won't be buying much in the way of fresh food next week.

My eldest DD is off to L.A. tomorrow morning with her OH Its her 30th wedding anniversary this August and its his present to them both. Long flight though around 12 hours I don';t think I could manage that :) If I was doing it I would go to NYC then take the train across the country, but she enjoys flying.
Right time I got a wriggle and the kettle on,looking a bit overcast here in kent at the moment although its not cold .
Hope you all have a great weekend and the sun shines down on us all

    Cheers chums

    Gooooooooood morning,

My god it's like Spain this morning. Beautiful weather. Roasting already.

Yesterday I helped my mum for a couple of hours in the garden again. I enjoy seeing a job done right so i do get a sense of satisfaction from it.

I've been to the gym this morning already and tonight I'll be going to my mates for a bit I recon.

SD - Glad to have you back :)
AoD - Absolutely HAS to be full fat for me!! Much creamier and tastier.
Jackie - Enjoy your time with the sis-in-law!
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

We have rain, I am so pleased, , its steady not hammering down so hopefully it will soften the ground a bit so I can get plants in. The front grass is looking better already. The new rain barrel should fill up a bit. The one on the coal shed was about empty.

I put the electric heater on in the sitting room yesterday it was so cold, cheaper than putting the central heating on.

Jackie, we know all about those long haul flights to LA, we made them several times, arriving almost before you left is weird if you see what I mean. We then had a hours journey up the coast to where OH's cousin lived.

No real plans for the day unless the rain clears.

Fish and chips for supper with the last of the strawberries. We will soon be picking our own, the strawberry bed is full of flower, will have to get the fleece out or we will loose them to the birds.

    Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to all those in need especially TA.

I'm doing a happy dance here, for the first time this week my mifi is stable and I can post, woohoo. Also CHS is off work for 4 days so no early starts or late finishing.

It won't last as we are moving on today, the travelers seem to have left the local area though they aren't far away. A school near DD2 is having to keep the children indoors as the travelers are in the playing field and are shooting air rifles at them!

So we are moving back on to the cut and hope we can find somewhere safe.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Hugs w

    Good morning all

    Welcome Bargainbird

    Jackie - Enjoy your day

Holly - Hope you have a lovely time

TA- Happy birthday to your 'baby'

I really enjoyed yesterday. Mum's care home is lovely, they did a special birthday tea for her and made her a lovely birthday cake, not quite 102 candles, probably would have set the fire alarms off :D I hope the 'new' mother lasts, it makes the world so much nicer.

Not sure what I'm doing today, I know what I should be getting on with, but have no energy.

Hope you all have a good day

  • Morning all,
Grey and overcast here but it is Friday and just before a bank holiday so I can live with that!

Shopping done last night so no supermarkets required when its busy over the weekend. A mixture of sun, cluds and thunderstorms are forecast, so that will be interesting :D Hoping to get out in between any showers, also want to make a cake (probably lemon) and measure up/make decisions on some en suite plans.

Chicken with 'something' tonight I think, will see what I fancy when I get in. I feel worn out, although I'm not really sure why, and have some TV to catch up on so a nice relaxing Friday night is in order.

Holly, have a lovely time with your brother, and I hope you got your hot cup of tea, I can't get going without mine in the morning!

aod - the one thing I panic about is having enough milk stocks for my morning tea! I hope OH sorts that out for you :p also love the sounds of your PJs!

tru - your blanket sounds great, can it be too colourful?! Not for me :D

dumpling - hope the wages get sorted, that is stress you can do without

Just a few things on my work list today, but still, better get on with them :o

    Happy Friday all :j
