Broadband haggling when there are no similar alternatives

Hi,
My 12 month contract with Virgin is about to end.
I've got the VIVID 100 Optical Fiber package and I am currently paying £32 a month for it. After the "promotional period" I will start paying £48 for the same package - which is a lot more.
So... I've been looking for alternatives and unfortunately the best connection I can get from the competition is up to 25Mb where I live.
I have 2 laptops for browsing, 1 PS4 that I use for online gaming and a netflix subscription with access to Ultra HD content.
Would a typical 25Mb connection perform well in streaming Ultra HD content and online gaming?
I feel that I don't have an argument to negociate prices with Virgin because, honestly, the alternatives are not comparable... Do you agree with this?
Thanks!

See https://help.netflix.com/en/node/13444 So the OPs predicted speed seems borderline OK to me?
OP check what the BT DSL checker suggests for you https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ as that gives a broader range of speed estimates in 'clean' and 'impacted' line scenarios to become more informed on the real world speeds achievable.
Of course you can ask Virgin to give you a better deal; with or without a threat to leave them for another provider. Another way may be to downgrade to 50Mbit/s? But their current 100 offer is £34 a month then £45, so your £48 figure is already more than it should be??0 -
Netflix say: "A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher."

Didn't know that was Netflix's recommendation, seems a bit over the top perhaps. I'd have thought 10-15Mbps was adequate.0 -
Sky's minimum for sky Q is now 40mb from memory so you can stream UHD TVEx forum ambassador

You bluff and say you are leaving as you can get a cheaper deal.
They may call your bluff or not .0 -

Presume you mean 4Mbps? Sky Q doesn't actually stream as such, it downloads to the HD and won't play until it thinks there's enough for buffering purposes so the slower the BB speed, the longer it'll take until you can start watching.0
