Only £100 which I have to pay anyway because my excess is £400 (young driver)
ARGH this is all dad's bloody fault. So I guess I'll phone them, pay and then say goodbye to my car, my degree and my job.

I hit a car, I know I know lecture if you want. And now they've contacted my insurance company and I don't want to pay through my insurance. Can't I just pay myself? Otherwise I'll lose my no claims and lose my car.
I really doubt anyone will lecture, it happens, people make mistakes.
Right as far as going through your insurance, you dont have to. You should inform them, but they wont put it down as a claim.
You do realise though a lot of people take car bumps/crashes if they arent to blame as a good oppertunity to screw for every penny they can get. Cost of the repairs are put up. Also if they claim against you for injuries that may crop up in the next few days, they wont cover you for if you decide not to claim.

Hey
Im a claims negotiator for a motor insurance company so thought i would give my input. (Really should be working right now heehee!)
You can settle privately, if you both agree to it. If the third party wont agree you can pay your insurance company back the sum that they paid out for the third party claim, that way they can reinstate your NCD.
Was there anyone in the vehicle that you hit? Before you settle privately you might want to check that the other party arent claiming for personal injury as this can be quite expensive!
Hope this helps.
Sorry if ive repeated what others have said.

I'll admit now I have no idea what to do in situations like that so I panicked and ran to daddy, well phoned (feel like an idiot). He said he'd fix everything when he got home and to calm down - so I trusted him. Then when he got home he did nothing! I didn't know what to do, I was in full shock. He was meant to help and he made it worse.
I phoned the other people's insurance and they don't know what the cost is yet, so I guess I have to wait and see but I have no money at all so whatever it is I lose the car.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Okay, I'll phone them next week once I know what I'm doing.
They are taking the mickey really, they weren't in the car, it was in a private car park and they were illegally parkedSo at least there's no injury claims.

was it a mirena IA? They are supposed to be better than normal coils because of the hormone in them. I have had 2 with no problems now. Love it.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
