Authorised Signatory ID Check and Possible Credit Check

Options
Hello everyone,

I am working in accounts and the manager is leaving and they want to make me the current authorised signatory can make me the new authorised person to deal with the bank accounts, under the fiance Director I will put in payments and transfers which he will have to authorise everything I input.

I am very good at my job and love it however I do have a very bad credit rating with pass debit, One CCJ and delfaults on payment back from 2013 which are still active on my credit file

I'm really, really worried that this will be flagged up by the bank when it checks my ID and file and the bank will refuse me to be on the account. Can someone tell me if the bank can refuse to make my an autorised signatory on the basis of my bad credit score?

thanks

I can't see your history having any impact, short of bankruptcy.

Given that none of us here know who you work for and the company's employment policy, it would be better to come clean and actually ask your employers if this would affect your role.

I know working in finance for some jobs you need to have a clean credit history and they do run credit checks on you frequently to make sure that nothing has changed - understandably you could be fired over this because for them it is a very serious issue and you could be a risk to their business.

I can pretty much guarantee your credit score won't be seen by anyone other than yourself. I agree you need to come clean about it.
