i have been with singlepoint (on vodafone network) for over 6 years now and my contract renewal date is in mid october. I have been on off peak 1000 min plan for £20/month and when vodafone took over singlepoint few months ago they kept me on the same plan. My question is considering the many good deals around with x network minutes and new handsets can i negotiate an upgrade with vodafone even though i have got over 4 months left in my current contract....can i say that my original contract was with singlepoint and as that company do not exist anymore im under no obligation to continue with my contract....any suggesstions please

They will negotiate with you once you are in your 11th month.
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Firstly, once you have completed your contract you have no obligation as long as you do not upgrade or accept any new contract. Therefore, you can leave if you want. The fact it is vodaphone or singlepoint is irrelevant.

Second, If you want the best deal ask for your PAC code (this allows you to move your number to any network) they will then put you through to the customer retention department. They can offer better deals than the standard sales desk. You can negotiate with this department within reason. Before you make this call decide what you want as they will ask what deal you have been offered so it may be worth investigating the offers around at moment from other networks or even vodaphone direct.

Singlepoint will issue the PAC Code free but will charge £20 when used. Though I was not charged this when I left Singlepoint in February. This does not apply if you port to Vodaphone Direct. Singlepoint and Vodaphone Direct still operate as the separate companies although they are the same company.

Finally, you can get a deal from mobileshop.com that has 12 month free line rental (claimable by redemptrion), a new Nokia and 1000 off peak minutes on Orange. Sign up via rpoints or another site and get additional money as well.

    Hope this helps.

If you had a minimum term with singlepoint which finishes in October then you have to continue with it - singlepoint were taken over by Vodafone, and they have also taken over from singlepoint's role in your contract.
