I have over 300 emails today, very few GDPR, have these companies just ignored the rules? I thought I wouldn't get any apart from the three that I had subscribed too.

I got more than ever today, most of which I haven't a clue who they are. The odd ones I've bothered to open seem to say do nothing and you're still subscribed pffffffffffft. Cba to deal with it till it calms down then I'll just start unsubscribing to everything I don't want from next week. I had been getting rid of them gradually but only needed to do one or two a day, then suddenly this lot appear out of nowhere. And one I opened said, 'by clicking this you have automatically re-subscribed' - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

If anything, yesterday was worse than usual and today - it's SATURDAY !!!!!!! Normally a light day, but must be double the usual.

I got quite a few today, but more updated privacy policy than the 'please continue to subscribe' ones.

But the more scary part of GDPR today is the pop-ups that have started to appear where you can select what your data is used for. If you go into the details there are many varied ways that you can allow your data to be used, many of which are pre-ticked as yes.

Even more suspicious is the link that says something like 'show full vendor list'. Eg on the Radio Times website it brought up a list of 258 different companies, almost all of which I have never heard of! (and of which were pre-ticked as giving consent).

The moral of the story so far is don't simply click the 'I agree' button. In almost all cases where I've looked at the details so far I've set all consents to no.
