Hi All,
In 2015 someone i know was doing some work for a client in Belfast who had limited parking available and they were dropping off/installing a larger server and networking gear. The client advised them to park in front of 2 of their cars as it wouldn't cause any issues and they had to nip out to the car a few times to get tools/cables etc. A couple of hours later they went out to find a 'fine' from Parking Enforcement Agency

The 'fine' was ignored, later a letter from SolutionsLabs was also ignored and now a 'Notice of Debt Recovery' from DCBL has been sent. They are now looking for the usual £100 plus another £50+VAT (£160 total) for administration and recovery.

All normal enough from other posts i've read. However, having just sold their house and hoping to move into a new property in the next month or 2 - do they need to tell Parking Enforcement Agency or DCBL that they are moving house? They dont want a sneaky CCJ hitting them in the future and to be honest wouldnt be too bothered paying this just to get rid of them.

Thanks!

Yes you do need to inform the "creditor" of your new address, keep copies of corespondence in your file!

(Remove details of who was driving - the ppcs monitor here and can use your posts against you)

If this happened in Belfast then only the driver can be liable; so, you'll need to edit your first post.

    Thanks!

    As already said above.

Simply inform the parking company of a new address.
No need to inform DCBL as this is just at debt collector
stage and IT'S NOT THEIR DEBT

    ADVISE THEM AS KEEPER ONLY

DCBL are the bunch seen on TV as "Can't pay, we'll
    take it away" ??

However, all DCBL actions seen result from instructions
of the High Court .... you are a million miles from that
as this has NOT gone to court it's just a try on.

If the parking company know who the driver was, they
may proceed to court ... they don't .. so keep it that way

So they need to write to DCBL to inform them of their new address? What happens then - do DCBL then assume that the driver/owner is accepting this debt?

It's up to them if they wish to inform DCBL of a new address

NO, it cannot be assumed you accept any debt.
All you are doing is telling the PPC of the new address
of the keeper .... simple letter or email only, advising
the PPC ..... no need to enter into a conversation with
    them. REQUEST THEIR CONFIRMATION.

By telling DCBL they will think ..... here is a mug and
start sending scary letters full of rubbish

don request confirmation. Just state you have retained proof of postage and that the presumed service will be relied upon, unless they can prove otherwise.

Sorry, conflicting advice beamerguy/twhitehousecat - so is it the right thing to inform PEA, or do they just move and hope they don't bother trying to find them again?
