VM Broadband speeds

I am on BB M (2Mbps), for the past couple of days I have noticed that in the evenings I dont get speeds greater than 400-500kbps?? I checked last night at about midnite and it speedtest.net was reporting 1942kbps... just tried it out now and its reporting 431kbps!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad:

can anyone enligthen me as to VM are playing at, I thought with cable BB connections there are not supposed to be contention ratios!!!

tried to ring VM CS and asks me to ring a 0906 number @ 25p/min + 10p connection charge!!! why should we be paying for VM messing up!!!

anyone else had this problem???

Have you downloaded more than 300mb since 4pm?

Virgin Media run traffic shaping on peak times (4pm-Midnight) on anyone who has downloaded more than 300mb

You could try running the TCP Optimiser
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

Download and install the software . Click "Optimal Settings" , set it to your speed (in your case 2000) , save the settings .
