Interview I had no chance of getting

I do, but my whole point was fussy - it's that the phrase "failed the interview" is not right, as you can't "pass the interview".
I think if someone said "failed AT the interview" rather than "failed the interview" I'd be ok with it, as that implies "not doing well at it" rather than "failed as opposed to passed". And of course "that's a different thing to simply not being offered the job after the interview - it implies they have actually done badly at it, whereas not getting the job doesn't necessarily imply this at all.
Pedantic, maybe, but incorrect wording annoys me sometimes.0 -
I would give you an email address but I am worried about GDPR....
The definition of fail is :- "be unsuccessful in achieving one's goal."
If after you have attended an interview you do not obtain the position then you have been unsuccessful in achieving your goal i.e. you have failed.
Ironically (although you won't believe this) I am actually an IT project manager and regularly interview developers. Many of them fail the interview!
Convenient for you, you can carry on calling people liars and refuse to face up to it.
You have failed in achieving your goal. You have not "failed the interview". You have failed to get the job, for probably a combination of reasons.
You may well even not have failed in achieving your goal because of the interview. If you take on everyone you see who does well at interview, that's either very unusual or you are not offering very desirable jobs.
There's no reason for me not to believe you're an IT project manager. I know many and a lot of them are absolute cretins, and a lot aren't. Why would I not believe it? It's not much of a claim.0 -

As you clearly have an anger management problem I now do believe you are an IT developer.0 -

Seems a reasonably angry statement. There is no need to call people cretins.0 -

You don't have to be angry to recognise that a lot of people are cretins. That's pretty much a given. Why is there "no need" for it - what word would you prefer me to use; given that pointing out that not all of that group of anonymous people are intelligent was the point I was making?0 -

The word cretin as well as meaning a stupid person also means :-
"a person who is physically deformed and has learning difficulties because of congenital thyroid deficiency."
Personally I would have avoided using that word to describe people. Some people (i.e you) are just genuinely unpleasant.0 -

Well that made me laugh anyway.
As to the OP - yes she has been messed around with if there really was no chance of getting the job. She could chance her arm with a small claim. Personally I wouldn't bother but if it's a matter of principle....well let us know how it goes.
If you're being pedantic then the thread title is completely wrong and you didn't pick up on it.0 -

Really clutching at straws now, aren't you.0
