UK CPM Ticket given with permit

Good afternoon everyone,
So recently this year i was visiting my partner, and as always i put the permit in my windscreen on the dash and reversed into the bay so that the permit was most visible from the front. However in the morning i discovered that despite having the permit i was given a ticket from UK Car Park Management. The bay numbering paint , has faded to the point that it is unreadable, especially in the dark.
My permit is clearly visible in their very own evidence i have all photos saved to my computer which they took of this incident, for future use in case they suddenly disappear from their website.
So that's my situation, here is what i have done so far and where im at now.
I found the newbies thread and followed the advice given there, sending a template letter of appeal for BPA or IPC members which i amended slightly to include the information given above. Had to send via post as there was no online appeals box and no email to contact them on.
They seemingly ignored my letter and i now have a debt collectors letter demanding payment in full within 7 days. What do i do next? Should i appeal to these debt collectors and send my evidence as i had before?

All IPC cases are the same, you now do nothing until you get a Gladstones claim (winnable).
Read any other UKCPM thread, by searching the forum for that single word.
You appear to have missed the 4th post in the NEWBIES thread!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was thinking since i have these photographs (taken by UK CPM!) as evidence clearly showing my permit being displayed, that a 'robust reply' may be suitable in these circumstances in order to avoid the hassle of the court claim stage?0

If your photos don't include a picture of that faded paint mark, do so now in case they re-paint it before a claim.where the paint I should add, has faded to the point that it is unreadable, especially in the dark.
Yes you should send a robust response but it won't actually stop a claim. Looks more reasonable later for you in front of a Judge, though, if you set out your position early doors and don't ignore this 'outrageous scam' (Hansard 2.2.18).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Ok. I want to read the PCN - if it simply says "no permit" then easiest thing is to change your original posts on here and defend on the basis that permit clearly visible in their own photo.
The chances of them getting the very same traffic operative to talk about Vs and flat numbers and to give evidence at your local court is infinitesimally small.
My approach would be to adopt this approach:
1. Delete the detail of location/bays from the posts
2. Write telling the PPC to bog off as a permit was displayed and, in any event, you were a lawful visitor
3. If proceedings are issued send the judge a photo of car plus permit (as taken by claimant) and ask it to strike out as claim has no prospect of success.0 -
Thanks for your advice.
The PCN Reason for Issue states: 'Not displaying a valid permit' it does not state at all why it was not valid. sorry who are you referring to as PPC?0 -
PPC = Private Parking Company.
This and many other acronyms used here are explained in post #5 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.0 -
Ok so read the forum about timings carefully. Conventional advice is to await a letter through the post once a windscreen ticket is received. I defer to others on that.
Once you get that letter and prepare your response you don't name the driver but do say, something akin to: as keeper of the vehicle to which the PCN was issued, I can advise that a UK CPM 2018 permit has been displayed at all times.0 -
I've heard of a few similar situations recently, cars have been ticketed with permits with one person being told that the permit had been cancelled when confronted.
Your best option is to either win at court or get this cancelled by applying pressure (preferably as a group of residents) to the management company.0 -
I have to wonder why a PPC employee would photograph a car with a permit showing and then process a NO VALID PERMIT ticket. Seems nuts to me.
I take it that the permit was in date?
I would take no action as advised till you get Gladstones letter, but get your own photographic evidence secured.0 -
PPCs like to "invalidate" permits, fail ot issue new ones - or tell anyone theyre not "valid", and then ticket0
