Kia warranty

  • Advice sought from Kia users. My Kia had warranty work done on it in January 2019, the 7 year warranty expired March 2019. In Oct 2019 a new part (turbo) fitted in January under the warranty is now defective, Kia have told me its not covered under the part manufacturers warranty as it was fitted under the vehicle 7 year warranty which has since expired and is therefore not now covered even though the part is only 9 months old!!
  • Unfortunately that is correct, the warranty on a part fitted within the manufacturer warranty is only valid until the expiration of the warranty. This differs from if you buy the part and it is subject to parts warranty. I would suggest approaching Kia UK with the service history and asking for goodwill

That's normal with all car warranties.

It not normal for a turbo to fail after 9 months. I wonder if they checked the oil feed pipes properly.
