have you setup a workgroup?
if you right click on the printer properties, is it shared?
which firewall do you have on the pc with the printer.
if the pc with the printer on is 192.168.1.2 then it will be called

Please put links to the old threads so we can see what you've tried.
Is the printer shown as shared? The printer icon should have a hand symbol, or right-click it and look at Properties.
Try turning off firewall temporarily on both PC and laptop. Does the ping from laptop to PC and vice versa work then? Does printing work then?0 -

Firewall is just is basic windows firewall.Set up workgroup ( when I set up, if I right click om My Computer ans select ,properties, computer name, there is a workgroup section that I have called WORKGROUP (very original I know) this is mirrored on laptop.
