Vodafone - getting a better deal
Been with them for 10+ years so would have thought there'd be a loyalty discount at upgrade time, clearly not though. I got an iphone 6 3 years ago on a 24m contract and changed to sim only a year or so ago, but it is now time for a new phone. I have tried the following:
1. Looked online for upgrade deals - even though they ask if you are new/existing customer (I've tried both) the prices are basically the same.
2. Spoke to an online agent - didn't really get much of a deal.
3. Phoned the upgrade team a few weeks ago who gave a relatively good deal so I asked them to call me back when I had had a think - they agreed to but never did. Called them a week after they should have called back and was told the deal was no longer available.
I've seen better deals on uswitch but have heard that sometimes they are refurbished phones (Vodafone agent told me that which seems a little naughty if not true - quite defamatory) but would prefer to go through Voda direct.
Anyone else had any luck by trying anything other than the above?

I played the loyalty card as I have been with them for 15 years now on the same number & have added a handset (my daughters) & they gave me 20% of the total price of the contracts.Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,
Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.0 -
Find a good deal on another network and ask them to match it? You need to realise neither networks nor customers show each other much loyalty these days.0

To be fair to them, I've just done a load of comparisons and I can't even find a cheaper deal to get them to match!0 -
Currently on hold with them. Just thought I would check here while they went to put the order through to see if anyone had a better deal.
Asked for a pac code and got 30% off contract on iphone 8. Had previously been offered 25%0 -

iPhone 8 64gb Red entertainment (I love Spotify) package £41.99 pcm. So 30% off monthly cost and nothing upfront.
Advisor said 30% off phone packages is the best deal, have seen other threads saying 40% off sim only deals.
When you cal ask for pac code. You should get through to retention!!!8217;s who have the ability to offer the best deals?
Good luck.0 -

Sounds good. Wish I'd read this before placing my order yesterday! I got 20% off.
Is your red entertainment the 32gb data package? I got the same, ditto with Spotify.
Oh well, there is still the 14 day cooling off period and then a re-order through retentions.0 -
Yes. That’s the one.0

I do wonder if I have missed my chance, though. If I send it back during the 14 day cooling off period, revert to my current contract and then suddenly phone to ask for a PAC code and end up stayng (with 30% discount), it may look a bit fishy!0
