This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I'm sorry what? I should include that in the appeal?

Or I should complain to my MP?

Why do people copy that ungrammatical introduction? It's awful.

    Thank you.

I phoned up the Garage initially before appealing, they said there's nothing they can do.

I assume try to take it higher up? I will try atleast.

How long should I wait to send the POPLA if it comes to that?

Just an updated, I got through to BP head office complaints department.

They are contacting the Manager of the BP Garage and I'm awaiting a response.

Do that first, not POPLA just yet, as the POPLA code lasts 30 days odd.

It's still going back and forth between the BP Head Office and BP Garage Management.

I phoned up again and managed to speak to the BP manager. Unfortunately he was not helpful at all, insisted there are signs up everywhere and that he has passed his information back to head office and they will decide. I think that's a dead end.

Ok I did some searching I will use the template from this thread:

I'd be grateful if I could get answer does this apply in my case here?

    1) MET Parking has deliberately chosen not to use the POFA 2012 and has not
shown that the individual who it is pursuing is in fact the driver who was liable for the
charge (ref: POPLA case Carly Law 6061796103).

It's relevant if they have not mentioned keeper liability after 28/29 days.
