Who audits the Ombudsman

Hi All,
Apologies if this sounds like a rant (it probably is), but as per the title, who actually oversees the Ombudsman.
After a problematic 5 months with BT of never achieving the minimum guaranteed speed and being messed about with 3 no-shows from openreach engineers I took my case to the Ombudsman who quite frankly doesn't seem to care less. They didn't even write down "customer didn't get MGS" or any of the issues I actually had and are suggesting that I am compensated a whole £2 per month on my £30/month contract; and they will not acknowledge that engineers didn't show up stating that either there was no appointment scheduled or that the engineer did turn up but didn't run a speed test - both a lie.
Getting frustrated I checked the Ombudsman reviews on Trustpilot which showed 0.8/10, which pretty well sums up my findings.
I also contacted trading standards but they said they would only refer me to the Ombudsman. As such, who actually oversees the Ombudsman or maybe I'm wrong to expect them to fight for the rights of he consumer?

The independent Assessor. But its more to do with their service than the decisions. I suspect your next option is small claims if you reject the adjudicator's decision.
You may be able to refer it to the independent Assessor if you can show they have failed in their procedure.

The ombudsman is not there to stick up for the consumer as such.0

People only ever post negative views online as a way of ranting and "boycotting"
It's rare you'll see positive views0 -

I don't use TrustPilot, I use gut instinct.0
