You do nothing more on MCOL.

Surely you read in Bargepole's walkthrough linked from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ thread:
Do NOT put anything in the 'Defence and Counterclaim' text box, not even a full stop.

There is a Bible here. The Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum

#2 there covers Court procedures from claim right through to the hearing

Read there for a link to what to do, and how to do it!

Yes thanks I've read through it. As yet I've yet to receive a reply or acknowledgement to my emailed defence from the court.

If you choose to ignore the FAQ advice then that's down to your choice

As you have not told us when you sent the Defence, it is impossible to say whether you should've received an acknowledgement by now.

MCOL will be updated by CCBC to show receipt of the Defence, but due to workload that may take a few days.

That's because you don't normally expect to get such a thing, just the DQ in due course.

However, MCOL will be updated by the CCBC, as KeithP says. Or you could phone the CCBC to check they have it.

  • Hello again it's been a while! I am due in court and all witness statements have been sent / received and looking through what VCS have sent me (all 50+ pages of printed waffle) I have noticed that the legal contract that they had with the local landowner only shows the date 2015 and for the following 12 months! I had my suspicions about this because where my car received the PCN the actual land is due for major redevelopment and demolition. Can I use this whilst in court (i did mention in my defence all chain of contracts should be in order) . Or should I send this to the court before I attend in under 14 days.
  • Is there a provision in the contract that, if not cancelled, the contract rolls over?
I had similar in my case, and I would have brought it to the DJ's attention during the session. In my case the contract looked like it expired a day before the ticket was issued, although there was a provision for the contract to rollover. My argument was there should be an updated schedule given the proximity of the contract expiring and issue of ticket.

Never got to try that argument out because the DJ kicked the case out before I got the chance to say anything.
  • Ive had a look - its a poor photo copy but it states - 'the client grants the company a non exclusive licence to occupy the car park and the company will provide a parking control service at the car park for a FIXED period of 12 months from ** day of ********** 2015.

signed simon renshaw smith and by the surveyor of the landowner (who I have been reliably informed no longer owns the land!

    Sounds great.

You can tear into their WS and question their rep to explain all discrepancies in their evidence, at the hearing.
