Every time I go to Europe I am unable to access or send E Mails from my Hotmail account. It is just blocked saying in an unknown destinations. As soon as I return to the UK all my e mails appear and it is back to normal. This is most frustrating. How can I rectify this problem so it does not happen when I visit Europe again.

Use a web browser to access hotmail.
Just out of interest are you accessing the internet on your mobile phone? If so do you have data roaming turned on?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I am using my Samsung Tablet.and click into E Mails app. I have Google as an app do I need to install another browser like Microsoft Edge.Once in the web browser what do I do next please.0

How were you connected to the internet whilst in Europe? Wifi or 4G? How do you connect when in the UK? Were you able to browse other websites etc whilst in Europe? Using the web browser method you would just go to "hotmail.com" in the browser. You wouldn't need to install a different one, just use the default one.0

Apparently Microsoft block E Mail accounts if you travel more 300 miles from home. They have confirm this is for security purposes!!0

But this not help a person who needs to access their accounts as i had my blocked for over 4 weeks and had to use Gmail but hot mail was mine main and had most contact names thus was stuck
I was not aware of this0 -
Could you use a VPN to disguise your location?
eg Firefox with Hoxx VPN add on, then chose the UK server?0 -
Microsoft don't block your account if you're more than 300 miles away from home in the sense that you can't get into yiur account
all they do is ask additional security question for example that could be a text to your phone or use the Microsoft authenticator it is like a two Factor authentication0 -

I have sent and received literally hundreds of emails to/from the USA (definitely more than 300 miles) with no problems whatsoever :huh:2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I'd say, in terms of security measures, it's a bit of an overkill.0
