  • Hello,

I'm looking to buy a nintendo ds lite as cheaply as possible. I don't mind if it's second hand but i'm wary of buying from ebay as you can't check the condition of the touch screen. Has anybody seen any good deals around recently? HMV in Liverpool doesn't appear to have any preowned lites in stock and Game are selling them for 65 pound which seems a bit steep to me!

Liverpool (Lord St) £52 preowned? at CEX store, also some at other Liverpool stores. check on the stock search page. If you have some unloved games still with their boxes, why not trade them in at the same time for more off the price too. :)

Ah, great! I've never even noticed this shop before but it's not far from my flat! I'll have a look tomorrow - cheers for the help!
  • You can find on amazon.co.uk or on ebay.
  • I am currently looking for a 3DS XL for my brothers birthday in April.

Ideally I would like new one as I know he will use it loads as he's gaming mad! The best I've managed to find on-line is about £165 - am gutted I missed the Sainsburys/Play/Amazon deals.

If anyone know of any good deals about ATM I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi i am a complete novice when it comes to these types of handsets and was hoping someone could enlighten me a little. My DS and DD want a DS Lite or similar - do they have any pre-loaded games on them and do they still sell games for them as they are not the newest?

Thanks for you help in advance :)

DS Lite is the older model but its fine, my kids are happy enough with them. DS Lite's are not really sold in the UK these days because Nintendo think we have lots of money they are only interested in selling the XL's with larger screen or the 3D models so we all buy new 3D version of the games.

An XL costs £120+ a £3D 145-£200+ there is a new cutdown version 2DS out soon that will cost still £114 its a bit of a ripoff.

They still make good old DS Lite for poorer countries markets and you can easily get on Ebay direct from Hong Kong and I have done this several times and never had any problems you can get a new Lite for around £50 delivered this way.

The console does not have any games built in.

Games are really easy to get, the cartridges are small and easily lost so buying too many at one time can be a bad idea. Best to buy some second hand from CEX store, play until bored then trade them in and buy some other second-hand games. This way its very cheap. Just keep the boxes in good condition.

To be honest a cheap android tablet offers a lot more these days but the DS's still get played and have some advantages, the battery lasts a long time each charge, there is no maintenance, no viruses, they are robust, some games you can play with friends via built in wireless link. Games are good generally.

Has anyone seen any offers on the 3DS XL of late? £160 on Amazon feels a bit steep!
